I hold myself to a standard of grace, not perfection

Grace saved me from having to hold up the facade that everything was perfect. It allowed me to accept myself for who I am, what I have to offer, imperfections and all.
It wasn't an easy road, but the freedom I've gained from myself is priceless. Ultimately, it's our OWN selves that we are fighting. If this is you, I've been there. There were some dark days, but when I committed to taking care of myself and showing myself grace, the dark clouds began to disappear.

If you haven't shared your struggles with anyone yet, I'd encourage you to take the first step, whether that's a family member, friend or co-worker. There is SO much shame lurking in perfection, and when we shed light on shame (aka share it with others) it can no longer survive. Shame wants you to think you're alone, that no one can help you and that you should keep it to yourself. I'm here to tell you that couldn't be further from the truth. You are NOT meant to fight this battle alone. The bravest thing I ever did was be honest with myself and others about where I was at. This way they could check on me, support me during my tough days and help celebrate my breakthroughs.

If you're struggling, I'm here for you. I know not all of us are blessed with a strong support system and I know how crucial these times are. If you need someone to be a sounding board, I'm always here.
